Louis-Félix Nothias holds a Chaire de Professeur Junior (CPJ) CNRS in Chemistry — a tenure-track CNRS junior group leader position — at the Institut de Chimie de Nice (Université Côte d'Azur), with an affiliated chair at the Interdisciplinary Institute for AI (3iA) Côte d'Azur. He founded and leads the HolobiomicsLab (2023–), which develops experimental and computational methods for host/microbial metabolism and pioneers AI-driven, multi-omics mass-spectrometry workflows.

Before returning to France he was a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Pieter Dorrestein at UC San Diego (2016–2021), contributing to the GNPS ecosystem, and a research associate with Prof. Jean-Luc Wolfender at the University of Geneva (2021–2023). His work spans experimental and computational metabolite annotation (collaborations with the SIRIUS / Boecker lab, CASMI 2022) and integrative multi-omics studies of microbiota — including the Earth Microbiome Project.
